When I wake up, I’m sore, lying in bed. My head hurts and my mouth is dry. What the fuck happened? I only had two drinks last night. Standing up, I head into my bathroom. Pulling open the medicine cabinet and pulling out the aspirin, taking two and swallowing some water.

Walking back out to my bedroom, I see the guys moving around.

“Anyone else feel like their head got hit by a bus?” Zin groans, holding his head.

“Yes” rings out around the room.

“I’m gonna go get cleaned up. I’ll see everyone downstairs.” Cade walks over, kissing me before walking out. The rest of the guys follow suit.

Once I’ve brushed my teeth, showered, and dressed, I head downstairs. I walk into the kitchen and sit down as Atti hands me a coffee cup and a plate of food.

“Thank you.” I kiss him.

Looking around the room, I feel happy.

Could this really be my life?

The doorbell rings, causing us all to groan in pain. Stone goes to the answer the door.

“Yo. Get over here now!” He yells, as we all rush over. When I make it to the door, my heart drops as the police are standing there.

“What’s going on?” Cade asks.

All I hear is “I’m sorry to inform you” as I pass out.

Epilogue

Standing here, watching as they lower the casket in the ground. I feel nothing but emptiness.

Why does death follow me everywhere I go?

I’m still standing there when I feel a hand on my shoulder.

“Hey sis, time to go,” Khalil says, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

He walks me over to the limo and I climb in. The guys are already sitting in here. We ride in silence as we head back to the house.

Walking in, I don’t say anything as I walk up to my room. I strip out of my black dress, changing into my hoodie and leggings. Climbing onto my bed, clutching the picture of me and Jo as I let all the tears fall from my eyes.

“I love you, Jo.”

I close my eyes and fall asleep.

When I wake up, it’s dark outside. There’s a knock at the door, so I roll over as it opens, revealing the guys.

“We just wanted to check in on you. You okay?” Atti asks, with a small smile.

“Yeah. I just need to be alone for a few.”

They all nod before walking out.

I get up and look out the window. I’m sitting there for a while when I hear another knock.

“Come in.”

“Hey sis.” I look over at Khalil, giving him a small smile. “This came to my house for you.” He hands me the envelope.

“What is it?” I ask.
