“Babe, can we talk right quick.?” The look on her face lets me know something is wrong.

“Of course.” I say, following her outside.

Once we are outside and away from the house, she stops to face me.

“What’s up, Jo. What’s wrong?” I ask.

“I know it’s your birthday, but I wanted to tell you.” She has sadness in her voice.

“Tell me what?” I can’t keep the panic out of my voice.

“I know who killed your parents.” The entire world stops as I struggle to breathe.

Looking up at her, “Who?”

Just then, she looks past me. I turn, finding the guys standing on the porch. I face her and she gives me a small smile.

“I’ll tell you tomorrow, okay? Let’s just get through tonight.” She hugs me. “I love you, babe.”

“I love you too, Jo.” Hugging her back, tightly.

This hug feels like a goodbye hug and not the I’ll see you later kind.

Chapter Forty-Two

VILLIAN

She thinks she is slick. I know she knows who I am and what I’ve done. If she thinks I’ll let her tell my sweet peach, she is wrong. Pulling out my phone, I dial up the number I use for situations like this.

“Talk.” The voice says.

“I have a problem. I need it dealt with.”

“Timeframe?” The voice asks again.

“Tonight. After 11.” I respond.

“Location?” They ask.

“114 Jan View,” I say before the call disconnects.

The cunt dies tonight.

I have a party to get ready for. Walking over, unzipping my bag, pulling out the vial that will change everything. Holding up the red powder, I smile. Tonight I’ll introduce Crimson to them all.

I place the vial in my pocket before grabbing my keys and heading out the door. Pulling up to the club, I park, get out and walk in. I nod at the bouncers as they let me in. I stop by the bar, grab drinks and head to the table.

They aren’t here yet, which is perfect for me. I take the vial out and pour it into the glasses before mixing them up, keeping my drink separate. I’ll be the only sober one tonight. Crimson is a powdered drug that heightens senses and increases the sex drive.

When I booked the section, I made sure it was hidden out of view from everyone else. Just as I put the vial back in my pocket, I hear Cade’s whistle, letting me know they’re here.

“What’s up, man? Where’d you go?” He asks, sitting down next to me.

“I had to grab that thing we talked about.” He just nods as everyone else takes their seats. Handing out all the drinks, I can’t keep the smile off my face.

Tonight is perfect.
