Me: I need you to look into a girl
Vito: A girl, huh?

Vito: Name?
Me: Aluxis Vega. She goes by Lux.
Vito: Attachment Received
Vito: Damn. She’s fine.
Me: I’ll slice your fucking throat. Blood or not.
Vito: Chill bro. Anything else?
Me: Yeah, she was last seen getting in a car with three dudes leaving Cherryville
Vito: Maybe she doesn’t want to be found
Me: FUCKING FIND HER OR I’LL SEND STONE YOUR WAY
Vito: Chill. Don’t send big boy my way.
Vito: I’ll find the chick
Me: Quickly.
Vito: It’s gonna cost you.
Me: It always does. Name it
Vito: I’ll let you know when the time comes.
I stare at the message. He’s always getting himself into some shit. I don’t know if the guys are going to go for it this time. Last time, he got us into a gun fight, and I was shot twice, leading me to be hospitalized for over a month.
“Vito says he will help, but it’s going to cost us.” I look over to Cade. He stops pacing and turns to look at me with an annoyed expression.
“What will it cost us this time?” Rubbing at his temples.
“He won’t say until the time comes.” I pick up the glass off the table, bringing it to my lips, drinking the cool liquid, allowing the burn down my throat. I look back up towards Cade.
“Fuck. Fine. Just find her.” Walking out of the room and slamming the door. Picking up my phone, I respond to Vito.
“This is going to bite us in the ass, man.” Stone looks over at me. “He always comes with a catch.” Stone says, standing up and walking toward the door.
“Yeah, that’s what I’m worried about too, but what other choice do we have?” Standing up, following him out the door.
“Let’s go grab some food.” He says, walking down the stairs.
It’s been a week and still no word from Vito. We’re all losing our shit, not sure what the fuck is happening. How does a girl just disappear off the face of the earth?
“If we don’t hear from him soon, I say we drive down there and kick his ass.” Stone says, with a sinister smile on his face.
