Me: You’ll have to wait to see mine.

Hubby: Can you hurry and get down the aisle? I miss you.

Me: We’re only minutes away now.

Hubby: Still too long.

Me: Gotta go finish getting beautiful.

Hubby: You’re really going to marry me?

Me: In this life and every one after.

Hubby: What did I ever do to deserve you?

Me: I could say the same.

Blake takes my phone from me. “Enough of the sappy shit. You’ll see each other soon.” He texts Lance and puts away my phone. “Come on, you need to put on your veil.”

“Anyway, a wise person told me and my soon-to-be hubby that all we need to make a marriage work is love, respect, and understanding. And I agree. So as I leave you in the hands of Blake and Geoff for a short couple weeks, remember those three things as you’re looking for love and marriage. Well, it’s time for me. And for all you skeptics out there who think that love isn’t going to ever find you, I promise it will. Sometimes the person who finds you will surprise you and it ends up being the best surprise of your life. It’s hard to not believe in fate or that there isn’t someone pulling the strings somewhere. To my soon-to-be husband, I’d be lost in this world without you by my side. I’m so grateful we found each other again. Bye, everyone. See you in a few weeks.”

“It’s time,” my dad says.

Mrs. Whitmore, my mom, Blake, and Brinley all file out of the bridal suite. I hook my arm through my dad’s, and we step out of the room.

I wait for everyone else to go down the aisle, then I step out and my gaze lands on Lance. Tears fill my eyes. This moment is actually here. I’m going to be Kenzie Whitmore.

My dad pats my hand and I’m surprised I have the patience to slowly walk down the aisle and not just run to him. Our gazes never waver as my dad lifts my veil and presents me to Lance.

Nothing has ever felt so perfect or right as saying my vows to Lance in Lake Starlight, where I found my one true love.

After he kisses me, we turn to be announced to our guests, but we stop when we see someone at the end of all the rows of chairs.

Palmer, Lance’s cousin, stands there. We look at one another, and soon everyone’s heads turn and the whispers start. I’m pretty sure everyone is wondering the same thing when they look at her swollen stomach.

Who’s the dad?

There’s a chuckle from the guests and I look over to Lance’s uncle Denver, who says, “This seems familiar.”

Lance’s aunt Sedona whips her head around and glares at him and then stands and makes her way down the aisle toward her daughter.

Lance leans in and whispers to me, “I’m apologizing in advance for whatever drama is about to happen at our wedding.”

I look at him and smile. “You’re my husband now and that’s all that matters. I don’t care what else happens today.”

We kiss as the officiant announces us to our guests and we take our first steps into our forever.
