I ACCIDENTALLY SAW DYLAN’S PENIS!!!
Not three seconds later, her phone rang.
“Oh my god!” Olivia screeched as soon as Brooke answered. “Tell me everything!”
“Are you at work already?” Olivia worked in an open-plan office in the renewable energy division of a large aerospace company. The last thing Brooke wanted was all of Olivia’s coworkers eavesdropping on this particular conversation.
“Nope, I’m still at home putting on my makeup. You’ve got five minutes to tell me everything before I have to get in the car.”
“It was totally an accident.” Brooke felt that it was important to establish that right off the bat.
Olivia made a scoffing noise. “I’m sure. He just accidentally happened to show you his crotch rocket.”
Brooke described the incident and the circumstances that had led to it, and Olivia snorted with laughter.
“So he was basically just walking around your apartment fully nude? That doesn’t sound like an accident.”
“He thought I was asleep. If you’d seen his face—” Brooke squeezed her eyes shut at the memory. “It definitely was not intentional.”
“So what’s it like?”
“What?” Brooke asked, even though she knew precisely what Olivia was asking.
“His dangling participle.”
Impressivewas the answer that popped into Brooke’s head. But it felt disloyal to tell Olivia that. If their roles were reversed, Brooke wouldn’t want Dylan telling any of his friends what her body looked like. “None of your business,” she replied primly.
“Come on. Has he got a half-pint wienie or a mighty man-hammer?”
“I hate you.”
“Don’t leave me hanging here. Get it? I said hanging, like his twig and berries.”
Brooke couldn’t help laughing. “Stop.”
“Seriously though, is it pinkie-sized? Or more like a kielbasa?”
“I’m hanging up on you.”
“Come on, you have to give me something. You’re the one who texted me to talk about his penis in the first place.”
Heat pooled in Brooke’s stomach as she replayed the scene from this morning once again, and she bit her lip. “Let’s just say he’s a very lucky man and leave it at that.”
“I knew it! I could tell just by looking at him. Those big hands he’s got tell the tale. So how far down his thigh does it dangle? Does it reach his knees? Please tell me it reaches his knees.”
Brooke exhaled another laugh. “You’re ridiculous and I’m not having this conversation with you. In fact, this conversation never happened. You can never tell anyone what I told you, and when you meet Dylan you absolutely cannot let on that you know. Promise?”
“Of course I promise. Does this mean you’re bringing him to Penny and Caleb’s reception?”
“I think so. I mentioned it last night and he seemed game.” He’d seemed more than game actually. Brooke’s chest warmed as she remembered the look on his face when he’d told her he’d love to meet her friends.
“Excellent! I can’t wait to see the famous Dylan in person.”
“How was the wedding, by the way?” Olivia had texted her a couple photos over the weekend, and it looked like everything had gone off as planned.
“Beautiful. Perfect. Exactly how you’d expect.”
“Did you cry?” Brooke asked, reaching across the seat for her laptop bag. “Did Penny cry?”
