“I don’t want you to stop,” she gasped. “But not this. Not like this.”

“Kitten, I make the rules,” Blaze growled, and he flicked his tongue over the almost-painful knot of pleasure at the top of her sex.

The shock rolled up her body, and her spine arched off the bed again, suspending her body between his mouth and the top of her head. “Please.”

“Please, what?” he asked, his lips moving up to her stomach.

The words swirled in her head, each more crude or too sentimental than what she wanted. She didn’t know how to say, I want this and I want you and this is my only chance maybe ever to be touched and feel loved and feel the insanity and heaven that you’re making me feel, so she said, “Make—make love to me.”

“Kitten, this isn’t—”

“I know!” she cried out, her body on fire with needing him to touch her. She wasn’t balancing on the peak but dangling from the precipice. “I know that I’m just some girl to you and I don’t mean anything, but please, please, just don’t make me wait anymore. I’ve been waiting my whole life, waiting for things that never happen, and I want to be with you tonight.”

“Are you sure?” he asked, crawling up her body to stare down into her face.

His blue eyes, usually icy with calculation, were clouded with desire, and his lips were swollen.

“Yes,” she choked out. “Please, like you said, take me. F—” A knot cramped her throat. “F—”

She knew what she was supposed to beg for. The women in the stories said it. They begged for it.

But she just couldn’t—

And then Blaze’s mouth collided with hers, his lips demanding and his tongue invading her mouth.

The world crashed around Sarah, a catastrophic condensing that left only Blaze’s mouth on hers and his body heavy on hers and between her legs.

He reached with one hand, his shoulders shifting sideways, riffling through the duffel bag beside the bed and plucking a square out.

“Is that—” she asked.

“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail,” he rumbled into her neck as he sucked at her skin.

He writhed above her, and his skin shifted as he pushed off his clothes.

And then he was bare, and they were skin-to-skin as he kissed her, his tongue tangling with hers like he was starving.

Sarah tried to keep up with him, kissing back and raising her hips with an instinct born of desperate desire, but he was everything above her, his hands grasping her face and throat, circling her breasts as he sucked on her neck, his finger slipping on her, then lower, a friction between her legs and then a careful press and insinuation inside her that threatened to blast her open.

He reared up, blinking, his hand and body retreating, lips still parted. “Not like this. Not your first time.”

He shifted, and with three swift yanks, the ropes tying her legs and wrists unraveled, leaving her more naked.

Her hands were free and the bonds holding her legs bent were gone, and his body covered her again.

It had been easier when she’d known she was helpless. Now, it was a decision to cradle him in her arms and in her body.

He whispered on her neck, “Hold me. Hold onto me. Hold me.”

She did. Sarah wrapped her arms around his shoulders and clutched him, bending to taste the clean musk of his neck as he felt between them, and then he barely began to press into her.

As he fit in, slowly moving, slowly filling her, Sarah dropped her head back to the pillow as the ache spread up her body.

“Relax,” he whispered and stroked her hair. “Don’t tense. Relax. Let your body take me in.”

She tried, but as he kissed her, opening her mouth with his tongue and her body with his, her muscles clenched and fluttered, over and over, oscillating between that deep ache and pleasure so laser-tight that it overtook her and turned her to nothing but need.

“Yes,” he whispered as he broke off and kissed her jaw before returning to take her mouth again. “That’s a good girl. Take it all.”
