“We’re not going to play this game. It’s worse than the marriage game.”

“We are going to play. You want to prove to me that you understand better than me how to make my marriage work, right? That you even have a successful one yourself? Now is your chance. Show me how observant you truly are, Alison. Demonstrate that, despite all your terrible actions against me, you actually grasp how to make a relationship work.”

“I don’t see the point. I have nothing to prove,” she stated. “It’s not like you’ll believe that I might have some sense of human connection. You think I’m inhuman, born from the lava pits of hell, and that I crawled all the way from the underworld up to here, posing as a sweet girl.”

“It’s actually a perfect description of you. I’ll remember that,” I mocked, noticing her raise an annoyed eyebrow.

“This game makes no sense. How will it even be a punishment for me? All your roleplaying has been a punishment so far. You knew I didn’t want to tell you I loved you. You knew I would hate it even more playing your wife. So how will this make me feel like you own me if we are simply going on a “date”?”

“Because you just told me you think this game is worse than the marriage game,” I reminded her. “But also, I’m stuck with this woman for the rest of my life. This fake date must feel as awful.”

“You know you can’t be forced into marriage today, right?”

“Sometimes you can,” I sighed. “And in this case, I don’t have much of a choice. I’d rather not go insane from being married to Astrid.”

“So I’m just practice?”

Chapter 17

-Alison-

“You’re just practice,” he confirmed. “I can use you however I want to. I don’t need to bend you over the pool table and fuck you to show you who is in power. I can use the tricks you use in your awful marriage to survive mine.”

I felt even more annoyed as he explained what he truly wanted to use me for. It was again all about his marriage. It was all about me being the dummy who was moved around so he could practice his new moves.

“So let’s get into character, shall we?” he asked.

“Do I have a choice?”

“No, slave, you don’t have a choice, but if you’re good, I will lick your pussy when I get back tonight.”

A whimper escaped me as he so casually spoke of licking me tonight, and for a moment I gaped, remaining frozen in my place. He had never spoken of rewarding me for my roleplaying. He had used me when we were playing to assert power, but hehad never offered me such a reward before. I mean not a reward. It was a disgusting act I loathed, one that made me feel dirty. So dirty…

Focus, I scolded myself, seeing the smug smile on Jared’s lips as he knew the effect his words had on me. Once again, he hit me where I didn’t see it coming, and those hits were starting to have a serious effect on me. Why did it feel like I was losing this war to Jared? Hadn’t I promised to come out as the winner? Yet, my body betrayed me, warming at the thought of his tongue on my skin. No, I couldn’t allow him to tempt me. I had to regain some power, so I angrily stomped over to him, though Jared remained unfazed.

“Then I guess I will have to be very bad, won’t I?” I snarled.

Jared chuckled before leaning closer to me, his hands coming to rest on my hips as he brought me to him, pressing his body against mine and moving to my ear.

“Don’t worry, my sweet slut, bad girls get rewarded too,” he told me before he smacked my ass, then slipped away from me and walked to the bar to pour himself a glass of scotch. He poured one for me as well, but I had no intention of drinking it. Nevertheless, I grabbed it and came to his side, and he smiled at me as he held up his glass to clink it against mine.

I couldn’t see how bad girls were ever rewarded. Why reward awful behavior? So, as we clinked our glasses together and Jared took a sip, I tipped my glass, letting it spill all over his left leg. I did it slowly, allowing the liquid to take its time to escape the glass, feeling the tension rise with every drop that slipped from the edge. Jared remained immobile, simply glancing at where the liquid hit him before meeting my eyes, calmly waiting for my little outburst to cease.

Once it was all spilled, I smiled and placed my glass on the counter before focusing on Jared again.

“Do bad girls still get rewarded?” I taunted.

He took a sip of his glass.

“I think you’re forgetting we are playing,” he reminded me.

“No, a stranger smacked my ass. A stranger gets a glass spilled over his pants when he does that,” I retorted, my smile growing.

Instead of growing angry, as I expected, he chuckled and downed his glass in one go before placing it down as well.

“Why are you laughing?” I asked.

“Because there’s a reason I like our games, Alison, and that is because it never gets boring with you. I never doubted your intelligence or thought you were slow. You’re fast, and it forces me to keep up with you. I enjoy that,” he told me. “And since we are playing, I can see why a stranger smacking your ass gets a drink spilled all over him. That was a bad move on my side. I need to remember not to touch without permission.”
