Unable to resist, I glanced around, soaking in the atmosphere. However, as I turned a corner at the foot of the stairs, I wasn’t paying attention to my surroundings, and I collided with a solid figure. Strong hands shot out to grip my arms, preventing me from stumbling. I raised my head and found myself gazing into Vince’s eyes, his lips curving into a smile.

“Lost, little dove?” he remarked.

“No, I was just...” I trailed off as his words registered, and my shock must have been apparent because his smile widened.

“What did you just say?” I whispered, but Vince released my arms, slid his hands into his pockets, and walked past me, heading upstairs.

I watched him go, a deep sense of unease coursing through me, causing goosebumps to rise on my skin. It was undoubtedly time to leave this place. I hurriedly descended the stairs and rushed outside, where I found Jared leaning against his car, gazing up at the night sky. When he heard me approach, he turned his head and focused on me. I rushed over to him, and I could tell by the puzzled look on his face that he had noticed my strange behavior.

“Let’s go,” I demanded, opening the car door on my side.

Jared entered the car from the other side but turned to me, his confusion evident.

“Are you all right?” he asked.

“Just drive.”

“Alison—”

“Please!” I exclaimed, shocking Jared. However, after a moment, he complied with my request, starting the car, and we drove away from that place.

I glanced back, spotting a dark figure in one of the windows, watching us depart. A shiver ran down my spine, but I was just relieved that we were leaving. Although my contract hadn’t expired, I would rather be trapped with one monster than several.

We drove in silence, neither of us uttering a word as we made our way back to the house where I had nearly lost my life. I found myself preferring that painful memory over the one I had experienced tonight. How had things come to this? When I had signed my name, selling myself to Jared, I knew things would bedifficult. I wasn’t blind to the deeds I had committed, but I had never expected to endure such trials.

I stole a glance at Jared as he navigated through the gate and pulled up to the house. He appeared just as tense as I felt, but this time, as we entered the garage, we both seemed calmer than the first time we had arrived here. Clearly, Jared shared my desire to put the other place behind us. He turned off the car, and neither of us moved for a moment. We both stared straight ahead before Jared let out a deep sigh.

“Come. You must be tired,” he whispered, opening the car door and stepping out.

I was exhausted, and my cheek was throbbing. I reached for the car door handle and managed to open it, but as I stepped out, I nearly stumbled. I caught myself just in time, but in a flash, Jared was right in front of me, his warm hands on my waist, steadying me. I slowly raised my gaze to meet his, and I saw that the ice had melted from his eyes, replaced by a worried expression.

“Sorry, I think I may still be a bit... dizzy from everything,” I whispered, struggling to find my voice.

“Come.”

Jared gently guided me away from the car, his arm securely around my waist, and he continued to support me as we walked toward the entrance. It almost felt like coming home, a surreal feeling considering the circumstances, but I was undeniably relieved to be back.

I held onto Jared tightly, fearing I might collapse again. As we reached the next floor, I realized where he was taking me, and my happiness waned. Jared opened the door to the blue room, revealing the special space he had created for me—a place where he could use my body as he pleased, but also use it against me, forcing powerful orgasms through me, making me feel utterly vulnerable to his desires.

I couldn’t hide my surprise at being back in this room, although I knew exactly what my role was in this house. Jared turned on the lights, and I took a step away from him. It felt like an eternity had passed since I was last here, though it had only been two weeks.

I slowly took in the room, recalling the experiences that had unfolded here. My gaze drifted over every instrument of torment before settling on Jared. He stood frozen, scanning the room before locking eyes with me.

“Do I get to ready myself for bed before you lock me in the cage, Master?” I inquired.

He nodded. “I’ll go get your things.”

Jared turned and walked away, and I seated myself on the bench where he had once cruelly punished me. My hands traced the leather, and I felt a strange warmth spread through me. My body was a traitor in these moments, but strangely, I didn’t resent it right now. I’d rather feel this warmth from the memories than the icy cold from the events earlier.

I sighed and leaned my head back, but soon I heard Jared returning with a bag in hand. He placed some of my belongings in the bathroom, and then, after a brief pause, he walked past me to retrieve the rest.

I proceeded to get ready, and upon reentering the room, I found Jared standing in the center, the missing instruments now back in place. We locked eyes for a moment before I gestured toward the cage.

“Shall I get undressed?” I inquired.

He appeared somewhat uncertain at first, then shook his head. “No, you can remain clothed tonight.”

I nodded and made my way to my small prison. I climbed inside, waiting for Jared to close and lock it. Strangely, the cage felt comforting tonight, a haven from potential predators. However, as I curled up inside, I turned to see Jared turningaway. He switched off the lights before closing the doors, leaving the cage unlocked, perhaps thinking I deserved a bit of freedom tonight. After all, I had just one week left before I would be free. Why ruin it now?
