“Well, I’m glad I’m never doing that again,” I stated, not wanting to reveal how much I had enjoyed myself.

He chuckled a little, shaking his head, and we put away the helmets before heading back inside.

“So, it seems we spent a little longer driving around than expected,” I said, guiding him to the room where he had his small bar.

“Yes, so?” he questioned.

“Well, do you want to continue, or do you want to go to the blue room?” I asked, placing myself in the middle of the room and holding out my arms, leaving the decision to him.

He pondered for a moment, then shrugged and stepped inside. “I guess we can spend another hour pretending that everything is normal.”

I smiled and fetched two glasses and a bottle of alcohol. “Friends share a drink too.”

“We aren’t friends,” he groaned as he took a seat beside me, and I poured us both a glass.

“We are today.”

I raised my glass, and he grabbed his, clinking it against mine. “Happy birthday,” I told him sincerely, seeing the almost shocked look on his face, because this time, I meant it, and I didn’t do it while hurting him.

We sipped our drinks, but I still couldn’t get used to the strong taste. Involuntarily, my face twisted in response, and Jared caught on, offering a faint smile at my reaction.

“I don’t understand how people enjoy this.”

“It’s good.”

“It’s horrible!” I exclaimed.

He took another sip, his expression filled with contentment, and that was what truly counted. He deserved to experience a normal day. While he couldn't rewrite his childhood, it didn't mean we couldn't revisit some cherished memories, which gave rise to another idea.

“You missed prom, right?”

“Yes,” he replied. “But I’m not sure I would have gone even if I hadn’t left school.”

I smiled mischievously and placed my glass down, positioning myself in the middle of the room.

“Take out your phone and put on some music, and then we’ll dance.”

“Dance?” he asked incredulously.

“Exactly.”

“You’ve lost your mind.”

“What? You can’t dance either?”

He glanced away, but it was clear that he couldn’t deny my statement.

“Come on!” I urged. “You want to try a normal life, right?”

Jared sighed, but he was unable to conceal his curiosity. He reached for his phone, started playing some music, but it was too fast. I requested him to switch to a slower song. Then, I motioned for him to come closer, and he positioned himself in front of me. I took his hands and guided them to my waist, and almost instinctively, he drew me closer, pressing our bodies together.

“We can’t move like this,” I chuckled, pushing away from him slightly and then wrapping my arms around his neck. “Now we slow dance.”

We barely moved a step before he lowered his hands, shaking his head. “This is ridiculous.”

“This is what kids do for fun.”

He appeared a bit puzzled, so I took his hand and compelled him to twirl me around. I ended up with my back against his chest, and to playfully tease him, I sensually moved against him. A deep, throaty groan escaped him, and I glanced back over my shoulder.
